The Brownsville-21 Project is a multifaceted project that includes walking tours, photomurals,  and information kiosks that serve to preserve the colorful history of the City of Brownsville.  The Brownsville-21 project was made possible by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Preserve America, the City of Brownsville and the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation.

You may notice several large 8' x 12' photo murals in our historic downtown district on the side of several buildings.  Most of these are in the main downtown area to illustrate apperance and activity throughout the decades, from the late 1800s to the 1950s.  See how many you can find on your own while walking or driving in the immediate downtown area.
